Public Lighting – Zero Cost Energy
OV Group has developed an innovation that allows for the reduction of public lighting costs. The Zero Cost Energy system enables public lighting poles to generate distributed renewable energy during daylight hours. This system is internationally patented and can balance or even generate a positive outcome between energy produced and consumed.
It comprises a photovoltaic module and a unit with intelligence that manages the interface with the power grid and transforms the generated energy, making it usable for either grid injection (using net metering) or local storage for later use, such as powering the same streetlights at night.
